“My job is more than a job. When you go into the field of education I think it’s a calling.”
Musa Hamka has been serving communities in Southeast Michigan for the past nine years as an educator. His career began in West Bloomfield High School teaching mathematics to highschoolers. After 7 years, he took the leap to administration and became Assistant Principal at Canton High School.
“As an educator, nothing brings me greater joy than sharing in the successes and accomplishments of my students and my staff, ” Mr. Hamka said.
“My job is more than a job. When you go into the field of education I think it’s a calling. There’s no other job out there where you could wake up in the morning every day and look in the mirror and think to yourself, ‘I have the power to influence so many,'” he said. “It’s a great job and it’s very rewarding. Advocating for the children and always doing what’s best for the kids is my model and I try to lead with a smile.”
